Jassani Foods Industries Ltd is Uganda’s leading confectionery dealing in manufacture and distribution of goods including sweets, candies, lollipop, chocolate bars and chocolate wafers e.t.c. Located in Ntinda in Kampala, the company has been in operation since 2015 with a 20 ton per day capacity which has now increased to over 150 ton per day. We have recently heavily invested in several assets as means to making our operations meet the ever increasing demand for our products. 

We are seeking for a technically qualified Production Manager to manage and organize our confectionery operations.

Overview of role:

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring Jassani’s production plant is strategically managed and maintained in such a manner as to support operations in the most efficient way possible. The primary responsibilities of the job are:

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Strategic business leadership and reporting to top management.

·         Review current production processes and design high standard manufacturing process with cutting-edge manufacturing practices.

·         Formulating and implementing annual/monthly budgets for the manufacturing department

·         Ensuring the preparation of timely record keeping of the production data shift-wise, like raw materials used, units packed, SKUs okayed by quality check, SKUs for dispatch.

·         Enabling the preparation of timely and comprehensive AOP with challenging goals

·         Ensuring compliance with industry standards of product quality for maximum customer satisfaction.

·         Prompt response to factory emergencies.

·         Any other duties as directed by the Directors.

Essential Skills:

The successful candidate should have a combination of the following skills:

·         Ability to supervise, coordinate and direct the work of subordinates.

·         Communicate effectively, both written and orally.

·         Maintain effective working relationship with subordinate employees.

·         Analyze the requirements of the situation and to take effective and corrective action.

·         Work with minimum supervision, meet the scheduled time lines, and to plan and organize the work accordingly.

·         Proficiency in computer is required to generate relate work reports.

·         Should have excellent problem solving skills.

Educational Skills:

The minimum educational criteria required for this post is a bachelor’s degree in technical field, science and marketing. A master’s degree will be an added advantageous.

Work Hours:

The daily work schedule of the fleet manager will require him/her to work for thirty five to forty five hours per week. Occasionally, he/she may be required to work overtime, in case there is an overload.

Remuneration:

An attractive level for entry will vary depending on the skills possessed.
